Drive-in racking is a highly compact storage system among all the pallet racking systems. It is FILO, first in last out. The first pallet in needs to be the last out. Products in this system should be of few types. Drive-in racking system is widely used in the warehouse which is not big but tall. It is also widely used in cold storage.
Advantage of drive in system is compact storage, in other words high utilization of unit area. Disadvantage is that it is not a FIFO system. And it takes more time loading or discharging a pallet than normal pallet racking system. |
